Is there a way to use Lightroom while signed into my Adobe Cloud account on the laptop, but not have it sync all the (disk-gobbling) full-size photos I've already taken, so I can just import and sync the new pics I'll be taking each day? I've poked around in Lightroom's preferences but can't find an option to only sync thumbails, or only sync the last XX day's worth of pics, or anything like that. What's my best strategy here? Obviously I can just manually copy each day's worth of photos from my camera to folders on the 500gb drive, but that leaves me unable to actually use Lightroom (I'd love to be able to review and edit in the evenings when I'm done shooting), and it means that they aren't syncing to the Adobe Cloud, so if something bad happens to my 500gb drive, there go all the photos I took on the trip to that point. However, on this trip I'll be bringing a small MacBook Pro with a Sandisk 500GB external drive - nowhere near enough to store a local copy of my entire Lightroom library (and I wouldn't want to - I won't need all my legacy photos on the trip). My Lightroom library is currently around ~800 gigs of local storage. I'm excited to be taking a 3-day photography trip next week, and I'm trying to get everything all set ahead of time.Īt home I do all my photo management and editing in Lightroom CC, on a desktop PC with tons of storage space.
